Welcome to another Pixel P&L edition. This issue takes 5 minutes to read. If you only have one, here are the 5 most important things:

  • NODWIN's NH7 Weekender drew 20,000 attendees in Pune with an all-Indian lineup.

  • Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick says AI builds assets, not hits and called the idea of button-press blockbusters "a laughable notion."

  • Fortnite returns to the Google Play Store on March 19, closing the chapter on its Android exile.

  • Riot Games locked Brazilian players under 18 out of League of Legends, threatening the country's esports pipeline.

Let's get into it.

NODWIN Gaming's NH7 Weekender Draws 20,000 in Pune With All-Indian Lineup

NODWIN Gaming's ICONiQ White NH7 Weekender wrapped its three-day 2026 edition in Pune on Sunday, drawing more than 20,000 attendees across a lineup of over 70 Indian artists spanning folk, hip-hop, indie, pop, and EDM. The festival, organized with Zee Live at Mahalakshmi Lawns, featured headliners including KING, Prateek Kuhad, Raftaar x KR$NA, and Nucleya, alongside a comedy bill that included Urooj Ashfaq and Shreeja Chaturvedi.

"Seeing tens of thousands of fans turn up for a lineup made up entirely of Indian artists is a strong reminder of the depth of talent we have in the country," said Akshat Rathee, co-founder and managing director of NODWIN Gaming.

The festival, now in its Pune homecoming edition, is part of NODWIN's broader push into live entertainment beyond esports. The company has not yet announced dates for the 2027 edition.

Take-Two CEO: AI Builds Assets, Not Hits

Take-Two Interactive Chief Executive Strauss Zelnick said artificial intelligence tools can help game developers produce assets more efficiently but cannot guarantee commercial success, pushing back on the idea that the technology levels the playing field for individual creators.

Speaking with The Game Business, Zelnick said the method behind creating an asset, whether a developer spends six weeks on it or generates it at the push of a button, does not change what it is. What matters, he argued, is the human creativity required to turn those assets into a successful game. "Creating a hit of that magnitude is a completely different animal and does require human engagement and creativity," he said, referring to titles such as NBA 2K.

Asked whether tools like Project Genie could lower barriers for developers, Zelnick was blunt: "Not even the littlest bit." He compared AI-generated content to birthday greeting cards, functional but disposable, and called the idea of button-press hits "a laughable notion."

His IGN interview is a rare moment of candor from a studio head who spent eight years living with a two-second teaser he'd rather erase. Howard admits the 2018 reveal was damage control, not excitement-building, and explains why he'd rather announce and ship a game on the same day. If you've ever wondered why Bethesda shadowdropped Oblivion Remastered, this is the explanation.

The mix of biomes and vertical terrain keeps you moving instead of strip-mining the same flat chunk for hours. It's early access with rough edges, but the bones are solid enough that if you burned 200 hours in Valheim or lost weekends to Raft, this will feel immediately familiar and fresh at the same time.
