GameRamp Raises $5.4M for AI-Powered Mobile Game Publishing
GameRamp, a startup building an artificial intelligence-driven publishing platform for mobile game developers, has raised $5.4 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Bitkraft Ventures, marking the gaming-focused venture capital firm's first lead investment in India.
The San Francisco-headquartered company, co-founded by former Matrix Partners investor Vivek Ramachandran and Sashank Vandrangi, offers an AI-native publishing stack that helps small studios automate monetization and scale operations without building large teams or relying on external publishers.
The funding round included participation from South Park Commons, Japan's Mixi, DeVC, and several angel investors. GameRamp plans to use the capital to launch two core products: Sentinel, which uses reinforcement learning to personalize in-game economies in real-time, and Grow, an embedded financing tool providing developers one-click access to capital.
The company addresses rising user acquisition costs and operational complexity facing mobile gaming studios, particularly in emerging markets. Early pilots across India, Vietnam, and Turkey suggest GameRamp's tools can increase studio revenue by 40-60%, generating income through API-based usage pricing and credit origination fees.
Indian Animated Film Shatters Box Office Records
Indian animated film "Mahavatar Narsimha" has collected ₹105.58 crore ($11.6 million) at the domestic box office in 12 days, demolishing the previous record for homegrown animation by nearly tenfold.
The mythological epic surpassed 2005's "Hanuman," which earned ₹11.47 crore over its entire run. Released July 25 by Bangalore-based Hombale Films, the movie started with ₹1.75 crore on opening day but gained momentum through the weekend, earning ₹15.85 crore in its first three days, according to box office tracker Sacnilk. Strong word-of-mouth drove collections to ₹44.75 crore in week one, with day 10 marking the film's peak single-day performance at ₹23.1 crore.
Directed by Ashwin Kumar, the studio positions the film as the cornerstone of a seven-film "Mahavatar Cinematic Universe" exploring Hindu mythology through 2037, with sequels planned every two years starting with "Mahavatar Parshuram" in 2027.
