Amazon Revamps Luna Gaming Service With Party-Focused Multiplayer
Amazon relaunched its Luna cloud-gaming platform with a library of phone-controlled party games, aiming to attract casual gamers and Prime subscribers seeking entertainment beyond traditional streaming.
The revamped service, included free for Amazon Prime members, introduces GameNight—a collection of over 25 multiplayer titles designed for living-room gatherings. The lineup features "Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg," an AI-powered improv game developed by Amazon Game Studios, alongside familiar titles including "Angry Birds Flock Party" and "The Jackbox Party Pack 9."
The smartphone-control feature eliminates traditional gaming hardware barriers, potentially broadening Luna's appeal beyond dedicated gamers. "Anyone with a smartphone can dive right in," said Jeff Gattis, Luna's general manager.
Beyond party games, Luna now offers major releases including "Hogwarts Legacy" and "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle," though these require conventional controllers. A premium tier costs $9.99 monthly for expanded access.
The overhaul represents Amazon's latest effort to gain traction in cloud gaming against competitors Microsoft and Nvidia.
Sensor Tower Secures Investment From Shinhan Securities

The funding adds Shinhan to existing backers including Riverwood Capital, Paramark Ventures, and Bain Capital Credit. Sensor Tower reported 60% compound annual revenue growth over five years.
CEO Oliver Yeh said the investment will "deepen our leadership in Generative AI insights, including expanding our visibility into how AI is impacting every corner of the digital economy." The company provides analytics to brands, agencies, gaming publishers, and investors.
Shinhan's Damian Kang cited Sensor Tower's market position: "In the era of AI and digital transformation, the value of data is increasing, and this value is defined by depth, timeliness and usability."
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Cyberpunk 2077 earned a dubious honor: admission to New York's Museum of Failures after its catastrophic 2020 launch. Despite years of hype and Keanu Reeves' star power, the game arrived plagued with game-breaking bugs that made it nearly unplayable on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, forcing developer CD Projekt Red to issue unprecedented refunds. The museum's plaque commemorates how "massive hype led to massive disappointment." Though extensive patches and the acclaimed Phantom Liberty expansion have since redeemed the game, its disastrous debut remains a cautionary tale about releasing unfinished products—now literally preserved as gaming history's failure.
